Quick answer

What does a Ubiquiti installer do?

A Ubiquiti installer plans, cables, installs, and configures Ubiquiti equipment. That covers the full UniFi lineup: UniFi Network (gateways, switches, and Wi-Fi), UniFi Protect (cameras, doorbells, and NVRs), UniFi Access (door readers and intercoms), UniFi Talk (phones), UniFi Connect (displays), and UniFi Play (audio), plus wireless bridges such as UniFi Building Bridge, airMAX, and airFiber.

Los Angeles IT installs and manages Ubiquiti and UniFi systems for Los Angeles businesses from our Century City headquarters. Our team runs the cabling, mounts the hardware, configures every UniFi app, and keeps it updated afterward. Installations are quoted after a site walk, and support is $95 per hour or included in managed IT plans from $300/month.

How It Works

How We Install a Ubiquiti System

We plan first, then cable, then configure, so everything works together the day it's turned on.

  1. STEP 01

    Site walk

We review floor plans, ceilings, doors, camera views, existing cabling, internet service, and what you want UniFi to do.

  2. STEP 02

    Design & quote

You get a device layout, equipment list, network design, and a fixed quote. You can buy through us or supply your own hardware.

  3. STEP 03

    Cable & install

We run and test cabling, mount access points, cameras, readers, and displays, and install the console and switches.

  4. STEP 04

    Configure & support

We set up each UniFi app, permissions, VLANs, and remote access, train your staff, and manage the system afterward.

Pricing

How Much Does a Ubiquiti Installation Cost?

Ubiquiti installation cost depends on how many devices you need (access points, cameras, door readers, phones, displays), the building, how much new cabling is required, and whether you're linking buildings with wireless bridges. Most UniFi hardware is bought once, and core Network, Protect, and Access features don't require a subscription. UniFi Talk phone service and some optional cloud services have monthly fees, which we explain up front. Every quote starts with a site walk, so the price reflects your building, not a guess.

After installation, changes and troubleshooting are $95 per hour, and ongoing monitoring and updates are included in our managed IT plans from $300/month, which cover one firewall.

What affects the price

  • Number of devices across each UniFi app
  • New cabling vs. existing
  • Ceiling heights, outdoor, and warehouse areas
  • Door hardware for access control
  • Wireless bridge distance and line of sight

    Choose Services

    UniFi Network

    Business Wi-Fi and Networking

Most Wi-Fi complaints come from too few access points, poor placement, or channels and power set wrong. We place UniFi access points from a coverage plan, wire each one with Cat6 instead of relying on mesh, and tune channels and transmit power so devices roam smoothly.

Behind the Wi-Fi, we install the UniFi gateway and PoE switches, separate staff, guest, camera, and phone traffic into VLANs, and set up site-to-site VPN between offices. For larger builds, see our network infrastructure design services.

    Network best practices

    • Wired access points, not extenders
    • Coverage plan before mounting
    • VLANs for staff, guests, and devices
    • VPN instead of open ports

    UniFi Protect

    UniFi Protect Camera Installation

UniFi Protect records to a UniFi console or NVR on your premises, so there's no per-camera cloud fee for recording. We choose cameras for each view (wide lobby shots, license plates, parking lots, and dim warehouse aisles), mount and aim them, and size storage for the retention you need.

We also install UniFi doorbells, ViewPort and live-view displays for front desks, and AI add-ons for person, vehicle, and license plate detection. Protect is one of the systems we cover on our security camera installation page.

    Protect installs include

    • Camera selection for each view
    • NVR and storage sized for retention
    • Doorbells and ViewPort displays
    • Remote viewing and user permissions
    • Camera VLAN kept off the staff network

    UniFi Access

UniFi Access Door Control and Intercoms

UniFi Access controls doors with card, fob, mobile, and PIN credentials, and it lives in the same console as your cameras. Every unlock is logged, schedules lock and unlock doors automatically, and you can add or remove a person from your phone.

We install readers, hubs, and intercoms for lobbies, suites, and gates, wire them to electric strikes or maglocks, and link door events to Protect video. Learn more on our door access and intercom pages.

    Access features we set up

    • Cards, fobs, mobile, and PIN
    • Door schedules and holidays
    • Intercoms with mobile answering
    • Gate access for parking and lots
    • Video tied to every door event

    Talk, Connect & Play

    UniFi Phones, Displays, and Audio

UniFi Talk puts desk phones and business phone service on the same platform as your network. It's a good fit for smaller offices; larger teams or call centers may be better served by the options on our cloud phone systems page, and we'll tell you which fits.

UniFi Connect runs commercial displays for lobby screens, digital menus, and signage, and UniFi Play adds streaming amplifiers and speakers for background music. We mount, cable, and configure both, and they pair with our audio video installation work.

    Beyond the network

    • UniFi Talk desk phones
    • UniFi Connect displays and signage
    • UniFi Play background music
    • UniFi Drive network storage
    • EV Stations configured (circuit by a licensed electrician)

    Wireless Bridges

Ubiquiti Wireless Bridges and Point-to-Point Links

When trenching for cable or fiber isn't practical, a Ubiquiti wireless bridge connects a second building, a guard shack, a gate, a parking lot camera, or a yard office. UniFi Building Bridge and Device Bridge handle shorter runs on the same UniFi console, while airMAX and airFiber radios cover longer distances.

We check line of sight, choose the radio for the distance and speed you need, mount and align both ends, and test throughput. Where cable is possible, we compare it with fiber optic cabling so you can choose.

    Common bridge projects

    • Building to building links
    • Gates and parking lot cameras
    • Warehouses and yards
    • Point-to-multipoint for several buildings

    Existing Systems

Taking Over or Expanding a UniFi System

Many businesses already have UniFi that was set up by a previous vendor or someone on staff. We review the console, fix coverage and security problems, update firmware, document the setup, and take over management, or simply expand it with more cameras, doors, or access points.

If you already bought hardware, we can install what you have. If you're mixing brands, we can integrate UniFi with existing cameras or access systems where it makes sense, or plan a gradual move to one platform.

    What we review

    • Firmware and console health
    • Admin accounts and access
    • Firewall rules and VLANs
    • Camera storage and retention
    • Documentation handed to you
